LAG!! Our Responsibility and YOURS!
Written by Dilberts Dilweg

Many of you may not see Charity and I enjoying relaxing times with everyone. Well we have a lot to do when it comes to keeping Sweethearts running and upto Par. Sweethearts is a community of great people. and as a community we all should work together i making it a more perfect community. We all have responsibilities to resource usage . Linden Lab has all these regions on Shared hosts.. . We can not run our region on a Separate machine from others. In some cases there is 9 regions per Host/Server. Plain and simple they are and limited resources. Yea we know it sucks. But we do the best we can with what Linden Lab provides but let me take a few seconds to explain the respnsibilities between you and the sim Owner of Second Life

Our Responsibility is
Keeping image Sizes low for faster rezzing. Mandatory Mall images 512x512 or less
keeping Prims low ( We have less than most places on the entire region)
Monitoring the region 24/7 for issues
Restarting if We need it
Staying on top of Updates
We are having to Restart too much because of YOUR scripts "winks" (If you are not wearing a lot of scripts  then ignore this line)

Believe it or not, the guest(YOU) has a responsibility to the community as well. Yes, your avatar uses up resources on the region. How? By, Movement, Textures, Scripts, Prims, Typing, Dancing etc.
Everything you do on a region takes up memory and resources. With a place that has 70 users on busy part of the day, everyone needs to cooperate to make it better
Scripts are the biggest problem with Second Life these days. Some vendors, paranoid about their items being copied have put resizer scripts the hair, shoes, and skirts. (1 Prim hair will increase a users script load by 250 scripts)
This has increased user scripts by a staggering figure, Before resizer scripts, the average user would have maybe 10 scripts on their avatar. in 2010 residents are sporting upwards to 300 scripts or more on their avatar. . That is fine if you are on an empty sim or less busy sim.. But the fact is when you Visit a club you need to remove these extra scripts that you do not need here. Like

Mysti Tool: It won,t work at Sweethearts So just remove it for now..It has 70+ Scripts.

Hair resizers: Most of the hair and skirts and shoes have the old style resizers.. Left Click on your hair and or other items. If you get a menu, chose ALL PRIMS and when the other menu comes up, chose DELETE. This will delete the scripts in the hair. That means it had resizer scripts in it... Or ask your Item vendor to give you a new one that is equipped with the 1 script resizer instead if the one with 250 scripts.

Combat Tools: those are not needed at sweethearts. please remove them.

Those 3 things above would help all the clubs you visit .. Not just here.. Please be responsible for your avatar and do not blame the owners for the lag. Educate everyone to remove their heavy scripted items and Second Life will be a much better running place.

Charity and I Work very hard on making and keeping Sweethearts Often times being woken up in the middle of the night for a restart.. We wouldn't mind too much if the residents did their part and helped us sim owners by keeping their script load down..
We Do our part
Please do yours  :)
Together we can make Sweethearts and Second Life a smoother running place :)
Yes at this point we will start removing residents who wear too many scripts. Second Life will also be Imposing script limits on Avatars soon See

Keep in mind, you, as the user, must determine on your own end where the lag is. Some people will complain about lag and all along it was their PC not powerful enough to rez all the avatars in the area. Second Life is not for the faint PC. You better be boosted up for extreme gaming
